Spring Home Refresh

This is always a favorite post of mine because it means the dreaded winter months are coming to an end, the daylight is sticking around long enough to get home from work without it getting dark and people are starting to come back out of their houses.  This mostly applies if you live somewhere with long, cold winters like New York.  Anyways, they call it Spring cleaning because after hibernating for a few months, its time to purge on the winter decor, declutter spaces and closets and freshen up the home!

Here are all my tips for getting your house FRESH, feeling lighter, and ready for the spring! Plus all my decor tips and a Spring home tour!

Tips For a Spring Refresh:

  1. PURGE- Start by putting away anything that represents winter! I promise just doing this first step will make your home feel lighter.  Winter decor is beautiful and perfect for those winter months but is “heavy” and putting it away instantly freshens up the space.
  2. WINDOWS- ew what a pain right? Take this step day by day.  Cleaning windows always gives the house a fresh feel and lets some fresh air in too!  I do all mine at once because I’m crazy but start with one room a day! I suggest starting with any main living spaces that get the most sunlight.
  3. ORGANIZE- clean/organzine one space a day. Whether this be a closet, drawer, cabinets, or room, this tip will make your mind clearer and house cleaner!
  4. DECORATE- This one is my favorite! Once you do tips 1-3, start decorating for spring!  I love bright, light, and white!

SPRING HOME TOUR

Here is some spring decor inspiration to get you started! Everything will be linked at the end of the post for you to shop.

Switch out your pillows and add a fun accent color to your couch!  I always stick with blush pink in my house but there are so many fun spring combinations! Find one that fits your style.

Add new florals like the ones pictured above to a vase.  This instantly brightens up the home!

Decorating shelves, consoles, and entry way tables can get tough! Always add florals, frames and one other decorating element to balance the look of whatever it is your decorating! I love adding mirrors to pieces like these to make the space appear open and larger. I also love adding tall candle sticks to spaces like these as well!

Bar cart decor deserves it’s own post! Anyone else have a love for decorating bar carts?  I just love the fun you can have with them for every season!

Hope you’re all feeling inspired to get you’re home ready for the new season and feel lighter, brighter, and refreshed! Let me know if you have any questions! XOXO
