Seasons of Life and Balancing

Okay so I know that we’re all always hearing everyone talk about the “seasons” of life and that you guys might be sick of hearing the term. But honestly, I have learned over this past year that it really is the best way to describe the ever changing events in life that happen to us all. Whether your a mom, career woman, college babe, or just someone trying to figure out what you want to be, balancing life can be hard!

Lately I’ve been going through a season of extreme mom guilt as I try to balance career and motherhood. As many of you know, I started my blogging journey almost year ago and have loved every second of it. But juggling this with another full time job, motherhood, trying to be a good wife, friend, sister, daughter and every other title I’ve accumulated over the years can cause some serious stress. I’m here to tell you, that if you’re also going through a season like this, it’s ok!  Let yourself feel these emotions, take a deep breath and just try to balance. We as humans are not going to succeed and be perfect at everything we do.

Missing out on anything in Cash’s life is tough, but I’ve also learned that in order to be the best mama I can be, I also have to stay happy.  And that for me, means having a career.  That also means learning some balance.  Yes I’m learning, not succeeding at it. Again, we’re not always going to be perfect and this is why everyone always uses the term “seasons.”  Some months I’ve got this whole balance thing down and others are so busy that my head spins in every direction until I’m so dizzy I can’t take it anymore.  But those crazy moments are also the same moments that I’m making memories with Cash, succeeding at something in my career, having some quality friend time, going on a date with my husband, or enjoying Sunday dinner with my family.  So let yourself FEEL those crazy moments and seasons and just breathe. You’ll get through them.

My best tips for balancing life:
  1. Get a PLANNER and write everything down! I promise this will keep your brain organized and your thoughts clear.
  2. LISTS– I have to make lists for everything. No really, EVERYTHING.
  3. Don’t beat yourself up, and BREATHE. It’s okay if you can’t make an event, or the house isn’t perfectly clean (major struggle with this one for me), or you didn’t succeed like you wanted to at work or in school.
  4. When your in a good season or even moment, TAKE IT IN!
  5. Make time for EXERCISE– it’s one of the best things you can do for stress.

Life is a journey and would be boring if everything was perfect and happened the way you wanted it to everyday. Learn from your seasons, live in the moment of them and don’t overthink it.  You’re doing great!

XOXO
