Beach Trip to Destin, FL

I have been so excited to share a hidden treasure (well to me it was) vacation spot with you all! If you have never been to Destin, FL, its a must see! This is a perfect, easy access location for those of you who are looking for a nice beach vacation, either alone OR with kids. The GORGEOUS white sand beaches and serene turquoise waters will you have you awing all week long. We took this vacation with our good friends just to get away and have some fun without the hustle and bustle of everyday life and let me tell you it was much needed.

FIRST STOP: HENDERSON BEACH RESORT

Chris, Cash and I started our trip off by staying at the Henderson Beach Resort. This resort was only built two years ago so everything there is brand new, clean and SO beautiful.

The accommodations there were perfect if you have kids. They have both an adult pool and kids pool (equipped with a bar and food!), splash pad, hot tub, large enclosed grass area with out door games and of course, beach access! We only stayed here for our first and last night but were able to take advantage of a lot they had to offer. They offer two on site restaurants with absolutely amazing food and a cute ice cream shop to have dessert and especially nice for kids. The staff is extremely accommodating and at your service for everything.

NEXT STOP: BEACH HOUSE

We stayed four nights in this beautiful home on the beach with our friends! You guys, this neighborhood in Destin was soooo perfect! The houses alone were gorgeous and fun and made you feel so bright and happy. Our home was the last one on the street so it sat directly on the beach and gave us immediate access to the ocean. And I kid you not, the ocean really looks like the picture above with Cash holding the football! It’s not just the picture or filter. I didn’t even know you could see a beach this beautiful in Florida.

Our house, and other homes in Destin can be booked directly from Airbnb which is always so convenient.

THINGS TO DO:

Destin offers many fun things to do for families which was perfect for us! There is a place called Harborwalk Village that sits right on the harbor with huge boats everywhere. Here is where you will find entertainment and games for kids, shopping, dining (lots of options), nightlife and so much more! There is also a main Street/Highway that runs through Destin with so much more to offer as well from outlets to dining to arcades for the kids. I cannot say enough good things about this place!
