Fall Home Update

HEY loves! With fall right around the corner, I wanted to give you some of my tips for spicing the house up with more than just pumpkin spice coffee and scents and making a cozy transformation for the best time of the year!  I absolutely love this season here in Syracuse.  The weather is amazing, there is so much to do, the fashion and home decor is cozy and all the smells, coffee and food just give me all the feels!

I had so much trouble deciding this year if I was going to keep my blush elements in my living room or go all neutral this season.  But ya’ll helped me with an Instagram vote and BLUSH by far won and I mean come on, music to my ears (I’m sure my husband loved that vote too hehe)!!

So I’ve rounded up some main decor pieces that will transform your home this fall for all those cozy feels.  Some items I like to splurge on and others are always a Homegoods find.

So here’s a look at some of my top picks for you babes.

FALL HOME PICKS

PILLOWS

I’m starting you off with pillows because I think that they really set the mood for where you’re going with the rest of the decor.  Pillows make or break your couch in my opinion.  My sectional has at least 7 pillows on it at all times.  Some I keep year round and then I stock up on seasonal ones and these knits pillows from Nordstrom are perfect for fall! Don’t be afraid to go crazy with your pillows as long as you keep the look seasonally cohesive.

TIP: I love to splurge on pillows. Pottery barn pillow inserts are my favorite because they keep their form and look new forever.  They also have the best neutral pillow cover you can use year round! Here are the ones I use year round and love!

THROW BLANKETS

These knit blankets are also one of my favorite from Nordstrom and will bring you right into winter!  They are such a cozy look on your couch or accent chair and I love that it pulls together the look with the pillows I showed you above.

However, sometimes I like a fun pattern and textured blanket.  Depending on the rest of the decor I use, at the end I sometimes throw in a fun element like this Urban Outfitters tassel blanket.  Textures are everything when it comes to decor.

TIP:  I always find great throws at Homegoods! Recently I just bought a blush knit and I’m loving it!

FLORALS

I always add a new vase in the same spot of my living room with new florals for every season.  Start with your vase, like these cuties from Nordstrom!  They were big sellers this year during the anniversary sale.  They also sell a blush one but for fall, I personally will use a clear vase because of the florals that I use in them.  Which brings me to choosing the right floral pieces.

Important: Always splurge on faux floral pieces.  If there is one thing you’re going to splurge on, let it be this.  The more real they look, the better you’re whole room will look. I LOVE these fall leaves from Pottery Barn.  If you’re using a vase like the ones I showed you above then you really only need to buy one of these pieces.  You’ll have it forever and its a classic floral you’ll use year after year.

TIP:  If you are local to Syracuse, Wegmans sells real maple leaf branches in three different colors every year and they look beautiful in a clear glass vase. So affordable and and I love the real look of them.  Stay tuned for photos, Ill be purchasing some soon!

CANDLES

I found the prettiest candle holder on Amazon prime for you babes and I’m loving the texture and color of them!  Believe it or not, candle holders are so hard for me to find because I’m so picky about the color.  This one is a great basic that comes in three different sizes that you can use all year round and just switch out the candles.

My all time favorite candles are these birch flicker flameless wax pillar candle.  Guys, they look so real! I love these birch ones for fall all the way until spring comes and then I switch them out for the basic white ones. Such an amazing value.  They come with a remote to turn on and off and a timer.  Adds the perfect cozy element and they are great if you have kids and don’t always want to light a real one.

There are four decor tips to get you started on transforming your home for fall! Of course I add little accent pieces here and there as I find them each year.  I found beautiful blush, white and gold pumpkins at Homegoods the other day but Im not quite ready for pumpkins yet.  I always start with a simple, clean fall look for September and then shift to pumpkin season for October and November.  Hope this helps you babes, and stay tuned on stories for my home fall transformation within the next couple of weeks!

XOXO,

Morgan
