Hi GUYS! I feel like it’s been too long sine I’ve posted on the blog. Anyone else ever go through that time in March where the snow just won’t go away, you’re sick of winter clothes and you just can’t find inspiration anywhere!? I get like this every winter around this time, so this year I decided to take matters into my own hands and just SHOP through it. Retail therapy is always good for the soul.
So let’s talk denim shorts. Last year I basically lived in maxi dresses because I just had a baby and was not ready to try and squeeze back into shorts. So this year I started early with my hunt for some good denims. Yes, I say “hunt” because I am so short (5 feet even) that it’s NEVER easy finding that pair that just feels amazing and makes you feel good about yourself when you slide them on.
Surprisingly though, I found a few that I am loving so far! So here’s a roundup for you denim lovers out there to get you started on your wardrobe for this spring/summer.
Express Low Rise
These shorts have a perfect stretch to them, making them flattering on your booty and thigh! I love the rolled hem and distressed look they have. Online they are labeled “destroyed,” but in person they are definitely just distressed. I’m all about that light wash in the Summer too! The pockets on the back give your booty a flattering pop as well (for those of us who are lacking in the booty department)! These fit TTS but size down if you’re in between.
Abercrombie High Rise
These are a belted high rise fashion statement! I LOVE how high they go because they’re perfect with a cute crop top or bralette, depending on your scene. They come in so many colors but I definitely love the Chambray light wash ones best. They are so lightweight that you feel like you’re wearing nothing and the tie belt makes them easily adjustable to your waist size. Fits TTS.
Express High Rise
These shorts are the frayed cut off denims. You can cuff the bottom or leave them as is (I love both). They are labeled high waisted but in person are definitely mid rise. Again, these have a stretch to them so they form to the booty and thighs perfect! They have a Vintage wash to them that I’m obsessed with and destroyed back pockets. I sized up one size!
Abercrombie Shortalls
Okay guys, best for last! These are my absolute favorite this season! I’ve tried a few others on from different places but I definitely love these ones the best. They have a perfect light wash to them, and a perfect amount of distressing. The top has a nice relaxed fit while the bottoms fit perfect like shorts. I love how cute “shortalls” are with bathing suits or a cute lace bralette! You can also pair these with sneakers and a sports bra for a super casual/sporty look. Fits TTS.
