Cash’s Nursery

HAPPY BLOG LAUNCH DAY! One of my first posts I’ve had in mind for awhile is about my sweet boy’s Nursery.  When we found out we were having a boy, I knew I wanted his nursery to be super neutral and not too “babyish.” I wanted it to be somewhere calming and serene. Yes, I keep saying “I” because well let’s be honest- my husband knew he had no decor say in our first nursery!

I started by choosing our furniture first then a paint color for the walls. It took me months to decide on a furniture set and I finally landed on this crib and dresser set from  Restoration Hardware Baby.

I wanted something with texture and detail and of course, WHITE.  This Bellina conversion crib and dresser fit the profile perfect!

Paint color was next and if anyone has ever tried choosing gray paint colors well then you know how much of a PAIN it is!  They all look so different in every room of a house and pick up tones of green, blue, purple and everything in between depending on your lighting.  So the search began and we finally landed on Benjamin Moore (personally my favorite brand of paint) Collingwood.  This color looks perfect in well lit rooms with lots of natural light and seemed to be the truest tone of gray.

I found this adorable chandelier from Pottery Barn Kids and instantly fell in love.  I thought it was going to be one of my hardest purchases but actually only took me five minutes!  The texture and color were such a perfect fit! The elephant picture I found at Homegoods and loved it because it wasn’t a baby elephant picture.  It was different and light weight for over the crib.  (I get paranoid about things over the crib).

Alright, so the giraffe. The DAMN giraffe.  I saw this in a catalog from Pottery Barn Kids and had to have it! Well for some reason, it was NOT that easy.  I swear Pottery Barn had this available for like a week and sold out and never got more.  I somehow finally ordered it but it took so long to get to me and I couldn’t just let it go (crazy, I know) so I called a million times and finally it showed up! My little decor heart was so happy because look at those color tones! So I clearly can’t link this one but here is a different one that Pottery Barn carries.

This storage basket is from target and adds the sweetest littles touch to his nursery.  The elephant was a baby shower gift and the polar bear blanket was a Christmas gift for Cash. I love adding neutral Plush blankets and stuffed animals to baskets for an easy filler in his playroom and nursery.

This sweet little rocker was also a baby shower gift and I just love it! The area rug was another purchase that does not exist in the world anymore.  It was a really lucky purchase from Target and I could never find it at any other target or online after that!  If anyone happens to find this rug anywhere, let me know and I’ll link it here. The curtains I wanted to keep bright so I went with the Nate Berkus mini fringe white ones from target and got them on major sale.

And finally, his book shelf. I NEEDED to have a book shelf in his room but the space we were working with is not huge by any means.  So I found this book shelf that you drill into the wall so that it doesn’t extend out so far and take up a large amount of space.  It’s functional and adorable and hold tons of books!

As you can see, there is no rocker in Cash’s room as there was not enough space and I didn’t want to shove things in here. His rocker is in the loft next to his room and I loved feeding him in it every night was he was a newborn. I promise it’s SO COMFORTABLE and can be used in your house forever!

So there ya have it- my sweet boy’s nursery!  Ill also link some extras below for you guys to shop!
